Strain gauge selection according to test temperature
The test temperature is a basic standard for strain gauge selection. The temperaure can be roughly classified into room temperature, lower temperature and higher temperature. Low temperature strain gauges are available in two types: bonding type and spot-welding type, and can be used in the cryogenicr temperature ranges from liquid-nytrogen down to -269℃.
Bonding type strain gauges according to measuring objects
Metal/-269℃
Ceramic/-269℃
*To be combined with adhesives and coatings for low temperature application
Spot-welding type strain gauges according to measuring objects
Metal/-196℃
* The special spot welder W-50RC is needed.
